Mehdi Jami
Mehdi Jami is a media consultant and a multi media journalist who has worked for the BBC Persian Service (1996-2006) produced short and feature documentaries, interested in cultural studies and is exploring the limits of media designing for Persian market. He designed and managed Radio Zamaneh (2006) a new style of working and broadcasting in radio for Persian speaking audience which is based on interactive communication and citizen journalism. As an independent journalist he has not been a member of any political group in or outside Iran, however, he promotes mutual understanding between Iranian political factions through a professional non-rhetoric way.
His research interests include Iranian Studies (his book on Iranian Ancient Literary History published in Tehran, 2000) and Islamic History (he has written for Islamica Encyclopedia, Leiden 2008) and also Persian culture in Central Asia. His Persian weblog “Sibestan” (first post: May 2003) is one of the most read Persian weblogs.
