In his most recent public announcement, Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York ‘a big lie’. According to Iranian national televison, he told intelligence officials in Tehran on Saturday that “the event of 9/11 was a big fabrication. It was a prelude for staging an invasion against Iraq and Afghanistan”. Voice of America (VOA) reported “this is not the first time that the Iranian president announces his doubts about the 9/11 events. In April 2008 already, he called the attacks ‘suspicious’ ”.
