Faezeh Rafsanjani: “My father is Green”

۱۱ اسفند ۱۳۸۸

After last week’s gathering of the Assembly of Experts (a deliberative body of Mujtahids that is charged with electing, monitoring and dismissing the Supreme Leader of Iran), there were rumors on a behind-the-scene compromise between ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of the Assembly and former president of Iran, and ayatollah Khamenei, leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. But yesterday, Faezeh Rafsanjani, daughter of ayatollah Rafsanjani, strongly rejected those claims in an interview with Rooz (roozonline.com) and said that no compromise of any kind has been reached. “Under the current circumstances, a compromise which does not take into account people’s rights can not be acceptable.”

In the Rooz interview, Faezeh Hashemi asks all people “to be patient and allow my father to push forward the issues his own way.” She insists: “As Mr. Rafsanjani’s demands and the goals of the Green Movement are common, one can regard him as a member of the Green Movement. He has been pleading during a Friday prayer in Tehran that the political prisoners must the freed; that the protests against the election results must be taken seriously and that the state needs to make amends to the families who have been harmed during the street protests.”
In the meantime, the daily Keyhan, which is close to ayatollah Khamenei himself, commented on the Rooz interview with Faezeh Rafsanjani in an article titled ‘Faezeh prefers the slaves of George Sorous to her father’. Quote: “While ayatollah Rafsanjani recently has stated again that the leadership of ayatollah Khamenei is undoubtable and that everybody should try to operate within the constitution, his daughter is giving an interview to an antirevolutionary website which is established is the West. She seems to be hopelessly eager to sacrifice the reputation of her father in the eyes of the Iranian public, just to please the Western powers and their conspiracy organizations (like Sourous foundation).”
