Tensions rise in Tehran

۸ مرداد ۱۳۸۹

Iran Focus reports that pro-democracy activists in Tehran have continued writing graffiti on metro and petrol stations, urging people to hold new anti-government protests and stage strikes.

There were many slogans in petrol station on Kargar Street, saying “workers, bazaaris, teachers and students, strike”. In Imam Hossein, Khazaneh, Toopkhaneh, Nezam-Abad and Baharestan metro stations activists wrote graffiti, saying “Iranian nation, strike” and “death to Khamenei” (Iran’s Supreme Leader).

In several bus stations, including those in Enqelab, Imam Hossein, Toopkhaneh, Rah-e Ahan, Poonak, Tabiyat-e Mo’alem and Saadi, slogans such as “together we will do away with velayate (clerical rule)”, and “nationwide strike, the answer to dictator” were seen written on walls.
